This place had once upon a time, a huge Jain population. But due to natural calamities and constant attacks via sea, people migrated to other safer places in the interior. Many Digambar Jain families from Bhavnagar are originally from Ghogha. Temples: 1. The Digambar Jain temple has a very old Idol belonging to 4th Century with the Mulnayak as Chandraprabhu. This temple is also known as Chopra Mandir. The miraculous idol of Bhagwan Nemi Nath is also installed here. 2. Second is Gujarati Mandir with Lord Adinath as it's mulnayak (installed in 15th Century). This ancient idol supposed to be more than 2500 years old and is without inscription & symbol. In this temple a beautiful metallic 'Sahastra Kut' Chaityalaya (1008 idols carved on it) installed in 15th Century. 3. Third temple is called Dandia Temple with Mulnayak Bhagwan Adinath, a very beautiful white idol in Padmasana posture. All the temples are in the main city of Ghogha.
