Gidhaur (also known as Patsanda) is a small town in the Jamui District
of Bihar
. It was one of Princely State among 568 princely states in India before the Partition of British India in 1947.

Gidhaur lies on the Delhi- Howrah main railway line. State Highway SH18 passes through Gidhaur main market alongside Miinto tower.It is one of the few block of district Jamui where basic governmental facilities like Hospital,High school,Post Office,Police station,Stadium are available.
Kings of Chandel descent ruled on erstwhile Patsanda for more than three centuries. Raja Malpurana founded this zamindari state in 1596.
Patsanda was renamed Gidhaur by the name of railway station situated at 2 kilometer far from town and established by British.
