To mark its 50 th year in business, Lombardi SA Engineering Consultants Minusio formed the foundation "Lombardi Engineering", with the aim of promoting and supporting research and development projects in the field of civil engineering with particular reference to the fields of rock mechanics, underground works and hydraulic engineering. The Foundation wants to support research performed by young engineers, to develop skills in our canton in Switzerland and in these important fields of foundation engineering.

Regarding the type of projects to be developed, the Foundation wanted to keep a wide spectrum. They are therefore worthy of support from research and development at universities, doctoral work at the ETH, or other development activities supported by persons or institutions active in the field of civil engineering. The Foundation will support financially and, if required, technically 2-3 projects per year.

The Foundation Board consists of representatives of the University of Italian Switzerland, representatives of the two Federal Institutes of Technology, and finally those of Lombardi SA. It will examine and evaluate individual projects and will select those it deems worthy of financial support.
