from the U.S. Government to Isaac Biggs, one of the earliest pioneers. Glasco was originally incorporated as "The Dell Ray Town Co" on July 18, 1871. The name "Glasco" was adopted officially by the Kansas legislature in 1878 and incorporated as a city of the third class April 14, 1886.

living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39.5% were non-families. 37.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.08 and the average family size was 2.67.
In the city the population was spread out with 16.4% under the age of 18, 4.5% from 18 to 24, 19.4% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 35.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 54 years. For every 100 females there were 88.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.8 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $26,250, and the median income for a family was $31,071. Males had a median income of $22,422 versus $20,625 for females. The per capita income
