and Hamilton, South Lanarkshire
.
The line opened between and on 1 November 1877 for goods traffic and passenger on 1 April 1878. The branch line to Whifflet opened on 1 November 1878 for goods and 1 May 1879 for passengers.
It was however absorbed by the North British Railway
on 2 August 1878, previously having asked the NBR to assist earlier in 1878.

The railway was incorporated on 16 July 1874.The line opened between and on 1 November 1877 for goods traffic and passenger on 1 April 1878. The branch line to Whifflet opened on 1 November 1878 for goods and 1 May 1879 for passengers.
It was however absorbed by the North British Railway
