The main title name of “Goldfields” is to promote the entire region. Between the 1980s and 1990’s, the Goldfields' reputation as the State’s strongest country rugby league region outside of Perth has a record which spans five years.
On 18 August 1995, the Goldfields clashed with the best players from W.A’s iron ore region as a curtain raiser to the ARL fixture between the Western Reds and Newcastle. During the past five years, Goldfields has taken on Pilbara, Newman, New South Wales Country and several leading metropolitan sides in similar challenge matches and emerged victorious in each.
The Goldfields has a long history with rugby league and would like to further that history. The Goldfields Titans home ground will be located at the Oasis Playing Fields next to the Goldfields Oasis Leisure Centre.
Mining continues to be Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s main industry as well as the largest industry for employment on the Goldfields. The strength and diversification of the local mining industry has guaranteed Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s economic wellbeing, even thriving during economic downturn in Western Australia.
Goldfields Titans Rugby League Football Club Inc looks forward to promoting the great game of Rugby League in the WA Goldfields region.
