The Goose Lake International Music Festival was an outdoor rock festival
held from August 7 to August 9, 1970, in the Leoni Township of Jackson, Michigan
.
Approximately 70,000 advance tickets were sold, but contemporary press estimates said that as many as 200,000 people attended.
Teegarden & Van Winkle were the festival hosts and performed as well.
Alice Cooper, Joe Cocker and Savoy Brown were scheduled to perform but did not. MC5
and Rod Stewart
were late additions to the roster to replace the canceled acts. Actually, it was The Faces (including Rod Stewart) that played at Goose Lake.
