Great Lakes released their self-titled debut album in 2000 on Kindercore Records
, which was preceded by a 7" single on Happy Happy Birthday to Me. After releasing a number of other singles, including a split with Elf Power, they released their second album, The Distance Between, on Orange Twin in 2002. Their third album, Diamond Times, came out in 2006 on Empyrean Records.
