In 2005, due to a huge surge in murders and crime the city enacted a curfew for business owners on some of Greenville's most crime-ridden streets, including Martin Luther King Drive and Ocean Avenue. Most of the 39 murders in 2005 occurred within the borders of this Jersey City neighborhood.
