In the city the population was spread out with 32.6% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 43.5% from 25 to 44, 12.9% from 45 to 64, and 4.9% who were 65 years of age or older. Settlement
Over 140 years ago the name Greenwood was filed for court record June 25, 1867, by R.W. Price, Frank Brooks, Alfred Hanscomb and the Rev. S.B. Clark. An earlier business district has been located about 1/2 mile northwest of the present school, but this was abandoned for the current site when the railroad came through after the Civil War.Geography
