Gregory Foster

Sir Gregory Foster (10 June 1866 – 24 Sept 1931) was the Provost of University College London from 1904–1929, and Vice-Chancellor of the University of London from 1928 to 1930.

Foster attended University College School and graduated from University College, London, in 1888. He obtained a PhD from Strasbourg in 1892, and was a lecturer in English at Bedford College before returning to UCL.

He was created a baronet in 1930 and died in London in 1931.
