Greysouthen is a small village and civil parish
between the towns of Workington
and Cockermouth
, which are in Cumbria
, in the North West of England
.
The village does not have very many services but it does have a village hall which is used as a Post Office
on Monday afternoons. Greysouthen is divided into two by the local residents – up the went and down the went. The went is a hill directly in the centre of Greysouthen.
Greysouthen also has a bus
service connecting Workington
and Cockermouth
about ten times a day. This is the 36 bus service which is funded by the county council
and operated by minor bus companies. Greysouthen has one large playing field and a smaller garden
which was made for the Queen's Silver Jubilee
. The village used to have a B&B
but it was closed down, although there is a caravan park.
The village is surrounded by farmland and has a couple of stream
