Guillermo Jaim Etcheverry (born December 12, 1942) is an Argentine
physician
, former rector of the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA).
Jaim Etcheverry doctorated in 1972 at the University of Buenos Aires. He dedicated to the docency and the investigation of neurobiology. Between 1986 and 1990 he was the dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the UBA. In 1999 he published the book La tragedia educativa ("The educational tragedy"), and from 2002 to 2006 he was the rector of the UBA.
Among other distinctions, he was nominated for the 2003 Konex Award
on Science and Technology.
