After training as a pilot, Bhatti turnt to journalism joining The Crickter. He also joined forces with Abid Ali Kazi
and Nauman Badr and launched the Cricket Statistians Association. In 1990 Bhatti joined The News as a sports editor.
Bhatti suffered with ill health after the death of his wife in 1996. After a battle with throat cancer, he suffered a brain stroke. He died on February 5, 2010 after a second stroke.
