After returning to Miami he began working with Neiman Marcus, organizing shows and sales. After receiving his degree from the International Fine Arts College in Miami he designed a dress that was published in a News paper and caught the eye of Egon von Furstenberg

).
He graduated and then spent three and a half years in Italy working with many of Milan's famous fashion houses. He later worked with Perry Ellis
in New York.
