club, which was founded on September 16, 1925. With a total number of 2,342 members (January 1, 2006) it is the biggest hockeyclub in the Netherlands
. The first teams (men and women) compete on the highest level of the Dutch field hockey league, which is called "Hoofdklasse". HC Rotterdam hosted the 2001 Men's Champions Trophy
and the 2005 Men's Junior Hockey World Cup.
