from 1944-1945 and as a Prestonian class frigate
from 1954-1956.

, she was commissioned into the RCN on 19 October 1944 with the pennant K676.
She was placed in reserve in 1945 and reactivated in 1953. She underwent conversion to a Prestonian class frigate from 1953-1954 and was recommissioned with pennant 316 on 1 June 1954.
Penetang was paid off by the RCN on 25 January 1956 and transferred to the Royal Norwegian Navy
where she was renamed . She was purchased outright in 1959 and was decommissioned and scrapped by the RNoN in 1966.
