HMS Thetis was a 38-gun fifth-rate
frigate of the Royal Navy
launched in 1782. In 1795 she captured the French storeships Prevoyante and Raison; and in 1801 took part in Lord Keith's expedition to Egypt; in 1809 assisted in cutting out the French 16-gun man-of-war Nisus at Guadeloupe
, and took part in the storming of the batteries at Anse à la Barque. In 1810 Thetis took part in the capture of Guadeloupe. She was sold in 1814.
