West Bengal's well known Banipur Loka Utsav is held at Banipur, Habra. It is the 2nd largest Loka Utsav in West Bengal. ( 1st Sunday of February every year, 8 days)
Banipur is an educational township planned by Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy and later Tarun Kanti Ghosh (Congress MP). It has educational institutions created on Gandhiji's ideas.
Gram Seva Sangha of Hatthuba, Habra is famous for its work in rural development sector. Prantik Sanskrit Chakra is a social welfare organization which holds its annual programme at Janaphul High School every year from 29th to 31st st December.
