Halkapınar has two island platforms with 4 tracks as well as a small freight yard in the west side of the station. Platform 1 on the east side, is a high platform for İZBAN

. Platform 2 is a low-lying platform on the west side is for intercity and regional trains operated by the Turkish State Railways. There are 4 tracks used for storing freight cars, with a branch line to the Port of İzmir and a container terminal adjacent to the station.
