Like many Belgian communes, Ham-sur-Heure-Nalinnes was formed by the amalgamation of smaller communes in 1977. The communes merged were Cour-sur-Heure , Ham-sur-Heure (Han-Nålene), Jamioulx (Djanmioû), Marbaix-la-Tour (Marbwê) and Nalinnes (Nålene).
