Hamilton High School's most celebrated and decorated athletic program is football. Football at Hamilton dates back to 1911, and during the 2010 season, the Aggies celebrated the 100th season of football. The Hamilton Aggie Football team is ranked eleventh in the state for overall wins (557-328-36), and has a winning percentage of 62.9%. The Aggies have had ten region championship seasons, six undefeated regular seasons (in bold), and one appearance in the Super 6 3A State Championship Game in Jordan-Hare Stadium

In 2002, the Fred Coleman Sandlin fieldhouse was erected in the west endzone of Sargent Stadium. Hamilton is known for its loyal fanbase, which fills the stadium nearly to capacity on a regular basis. On October 15, 2010, nearly 5,000 fans packed Sargent Stadium to watch the Aggies defeat Cordova for the Region 5 championship. Hamilton has also maintained rivalries with the Winfield Pirates, which also compete in Region 5, and the Haleyville Lions of Winston County. The Aggies lead the overall series against both rival schools in football.
The Director of Bands is Nathan Garner, a graduate and former Drum Major of Hamilton High School, and a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he played tuba in the Million Dollar Band. Key Dancer sponors are Esther Ballard and Susan Brown, and Color Guard sponsor is Gena Holloway.

Athletics
Hamilton High School fields athletic teams in eight different sports, including football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, cross country and track, men's and women's golf, and cheerleading. The Aggies have won six AHSAA state championships, including women's basketball in 1990 and men's cross country in 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, and 1991. The 1991 women's basketball team finished as the state runner up to Pell City. In football, the Aggies reached the AHSAA Super Six State Championship Game in 2010, finishing as the state runner up to Leeds. Since 2000, Hamilton has garnered eight unofficial state championships for power lifting. Aggie Band
Hamilton High School is also home to the 90-member http://www.aggiebands.com Hamilton Aggie Band, one of Northwest Alabama's finest band programs. In recent years the Aggie Bands have experienced a major increase in membership, along with the addition of the H-Train Jazz Band, and the debut of new uniforms in the fall of 2010. In years past, the band routinely boasted membership of 150+ members under the leadership of former band directors, B.T. Nobles, Bill Springer and Mike Smith and was well known throughout the region for its superior technique and showmanship. In recent years, the band is making great strides toward the goal of once again fielding the numbers for which it was known for many years. Not only has the band increased in size, but it has also set a new standard of excellence expected by the community. In March 2009, the Concert Band received a Superior rating at the Alabama Bandmasters Association State Band Assessment and repeated in March 2010. The Marching Band performs at all Aggie football games, along with seasonal parades and community events. The Concert and Jazz Bands perform at concerts and school events throughout the year. The Aggie Band has traveled to Walt Disney World to perform in the Magic Kingdom, Universal Orlando, and the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana. The band recently traveled with the Hamilton Aggies to Auburn, Alabama to perform at the AHSAA Super 6 3A State Championship at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
