Hanamkonda or Hanumakonda is the name given to places named after God Hanuman

Hanamkonda or Hanmakonda, used to be called as Hanuma - Konda a village founded by two brothers Hanumaiah and Kondaiah during the Kakatiya dynasty, who established many Hanuman temples to protect the Orugallu empire from evil demons. You will find several Hanuman temples in Warangal

It is believed that Hanuman first set out to Lanka from Mahendragiri hills which is near Hanuma Konda. Konda in many southern dialects means 'get'. So the place name could mean 'Hanuman got' as Hanuman is instrumental in getting Sita from Lanka.
