Hans Brunhart was the Head of Government, foreign minister

from April 26, 1978 until May 26, 1993. He was a member of the Patriotic Union party (Vaterländische Union), a liberal and social oriented party (founded 1918). He resigned after that party had disappointing results in elections 1993.
