Hans Woellke was in the Berlin Police force. During World War II, he was a Captain in the Security Police attached to a regiment in the Waffen SS. His grave can be found in the Minsk Cemetery. (Moscow Street, Grave 28, Row 22, West Side). He was killed by partisans on 22 March 1943 near Khatyn village which caused mass killing of inhabitants of Khatyn (149 people killed).
