Hanur(Tamil:அனூர்) is a town and a newly formed (December 2002) taluk in Chamrajnagar district
of Karnataka
State, India
. Previously, it was under Kollegal
Taluk.

Nagappa (Former Minister of Karnataka who was killed by Veerappan) was elected from Hanur constituency. Christa Raja School of Hanur is one of the best schools in the district it has a track record of good results, almost 100% in the 10th standard public exams. And also the Pre University collage. There are some other other schools G V Gowda High School and P U Collage, B. Muniyappa Gowda High School, Govt. Higher primary School, Morarji Desai Residential School, Vivekananda School. It has all the Features to become taluk and it has been in the progress.
