Encyclopedia

, Pennsylvania
, and competing in the PIHA
. Harrisburg is one of two teams that were original members of PIHA that are currently competing in the PIHA, the other is the Pennsylvania Typhoon
. The Lunatics have called the Susquehanna Sports Center
home since their inception in during the 2002 season.
. Today, only two of the original franchises currently compete in the PIHA in the same city and under the same team name, the Harrisburg Lunatics and York Typhoon.
For the first four year in team history, the Lunatics struggled to remain a winning team. After finishing with a winning record in 2003 season, the Lunatics went on to post consecutive losing seasons, losing more than sixty percent of their games. Things started to change during the 2006
season when the Lunatics posted 20 wins, a franchise record on the way to a 3rd place finish in the Eastern Conference
. The following season, the Lunatics posted a new franchise record of 23 wins on the way to their second consecutive 3rd place finish in the Eastern Conference. The Lunatics advance all the way to the conference finals by defeating the Marple Gladiators
two games to none, and upsetting the Regular Season Champion Pittsburgh Bandits
. In the conference finals, the Boston Roller Rats defeated the Lunatics three games to one ending their playoff run.
