Plot

Tough Paul Mendez's ghost comes back to haunt sympathetic Melissa Dryden, as he knows that she killed him. Melissa has no recollection of his murder and is terrified that he will avenge himself by taking her life. When she meets the living Paul at a dance, she begins to understand that his death will occur in the future, and she and the ghost Paul try to change the future. However, the living Paul has no interest whatsoever in listening to her crazy talk. He firmly believes that the "rich girl" has a crush on him, hence the reason she is chasing him around and talking in paranormal sense.To get his attention.Melissa tries to convince the hardheaded Paul that she is literally his death throughout the book, while struggling to understand her feelings for the ghost Paul.
