Hautat Sudair or Hawtat Sudair ( also spelled Al hawtah , or Al hautah; , Sudair's capital and the beating heart of the historical area of Sudair
, is located at the center of the valley of Sudair in Nejd. Hautat Sudair is the center of Sudair metropolitan area. Major towns and villages surrounding Hautat Sudair include Arrawdah, Dakla, Ushayrah, Attar, Oudah, Janubeyah, Jalajil Tumair and Tuwaim. Al hautah is popular for its green olives, lemons, and dates. Wurat and Aleblah are Al Hautah's main agricultural areas providing Sudair with many kinds of fruits and vegetables. Hautat Sudair is located at the intersection 12-13 Riyadh-Sudair-Qassim. 140 Km north of the capital Riyadh
. Hautat Sudair like many other Saudi cities has been going through vast changes. Huge projects are being built and one of those projects is Sudair Industrial city , the kingdom's largest industrial city to date."The city is located directly on the road linking Riyadh city with northern part of Saudi Arabia which is connected with road network. In addition to that, Riyadh Airport is closely adjacent to the site. The establishment of the dry port in the Sudair city is also planned, as well as the privi- lege of the presence of the south – north land railway which links the central part (south- ern part of Riyadh) with the Northern boundaries of the Kingdom. The type of industries will mostly consist of light-to-medium and the master plan will indicate where the relevant industries should be located. The target industries identified with Sudair are in alignment with all the current initiatives under way in KSA and with the National IndustrialStrategy for Saudi Arabia. It is envisioned that Sudair will serve as a complementary location to economic cities being planned due to its central location and proximity to the capital. The basic zoning concept has the site divided into predominantly
two areas: residential and industrial.

Name
The name Hautat is derived from the Arabic word Hautah or Ha'et, which means "wall". "In the center of the valley of Sudair, you arrive at Al Ha'et," AlHamadani wrote in his book Sifat Jazirat Alarab in the 930s A.D.History
Hautat Sudair was first inhabited and built by the tribe of Banul Anbar of Tamim. Hundreds of years later Sudair suffered from very dry seasons and a lot of its own people immigrated to different cities in Nejd but mainly to a land they arrived at later and named after Hautat Sudair, Hotat Bani TamimHotat Bani Tamim
