 on the extreme northwest end of Oahu, just past Makaha.

Route description

As H1 ends near Kapolei and Ko Olina, it continues as a four lane, and then two lane highway up into the Waianae and Makaha area, the "Leeward Coast", of west Oahu.

Route 93 is named the Farrington Highway for its entire length. However, it is only one section of the Farrington Highway; the Farrington Highway continues east past the southeast end of Route 93 to north of Pearl Harbor; and another section of the Farrington Highway is Hawaii Route 930 in the North Coast

 of Oahu. Routes 93 and 930 are not connected -- there is a gap around Kaena Point

. There is an unpaved trail around Kaena Point, along the old Farrington Highway, that connects the two roads, but cars are not allowed on it, and the trail is washed out in several places.

History

The route that is now Farrington Highway began as a walking route for those who accessed Waianae and Makaha area from central Oahu and the Ewa Beach area.
