A hedgehog slice is a flat square or bar, similar to a fudgey chocolate brownie
but with alternating lighter and darker areas on the inside. It is widely available in cafes in the state of Victoria

The lighter areas are created by adding bread crumbs, crushed biscuit
, rice puffs, or similar, to the slice. Nuts may also be added. A layer of chocolate topping is added, on which may be sprinkled coconut, Hundreds and Thousands, or other kinds of sprinkles (e.g. chocolate flaviured, coffee flavoured, etc.).
