On June 29, 2008, Watney became the host for The Ultimate Red Sox Show, replacing Hazel Mae
. In October 2008, she also became the host of The Red Sox Report.
On November 16, 2011 it was announced that Watney will be leaving NESN to cover the sidelines for the Los Angeles Lakers beginning in the 2012-2013 NBA season.
