rock band
whose members originally hail from Joliet, Illinois
(a suburb of Chicago, Illinois
).
The group's music is a combination of hard rock
and progressive rock
but with the underlying sensibility and structure of power pop
. Their lyrics cleverly deal with the darker aspects of theology, fantasy and science fiction but additionally feature such topics as the uncanny frequency of orphaned protagonists in fiction, the non-medical use of prescription medications and romanticized suicide amongst vampires.
formed in 2004 when long time collaborators bassist/vocalist Brahm Taylor and guitarist Marc Kaducak asked Scott Carneghi, the then-former drummer of Greta (band)
to join. Carneghi had previously replaced Brad Wilk
in Greta, when Wilk left to form Rage Against the Machine
and eventually Audioslave
.
During a brief hiatus, Carneghi joined the Ozzfest
tour as drummer for the band Grade 8 (band)
. When business issues forced Grade 8 off tour, Carneghi again returned to Height of Roman Fashion.
The group mixed the single "MedHed" with producer Michael Wagener
in Nashville, Tennessee
