Since 1975, he has been working at the TU Delft. Until September 2007, de Haan was chairman of the Stylos Stichting, a foundation which exists since 1984 to support initiatives from students of the Architecture
faculty of the TU Delft.
In 1981, he founded CASA Architecten, an Architecture
office based in Amsterdam
.
Since 2006, he runs his office 'Hein de Haan'. de Haan specialized in housing in the urban
context, programming and development of housing
with other activities (work, facilities), ‘do it yourself’ project development with a group of users without developers and brokers, urban renewal
