. The municipality was formed from the 1993 union of Heinrichswil and Winistorf.

Heinrichswil is first mentioned in 1317 as Cristan von Heinrichswile. It formed a double municipality with Heriswil until 1798, and until 1854 it was part of the triple municipality of Heinrichswil-Hersiwil-Winistorf.Geography
