. The school was first founded in 1894 and has been moved to different campus sites in the past. The school has been operating at its present campus site since 1972. Hemet High is accredited by the WASC Accrediting Commission for Schools
. The campus has since began construction expansion again and is expected to be completed in 2012.

The Hemet High school MTB team competed in the SoCal League's inaugural season in 2008/9 and finished in 2nd place overall. In the second season of the SoCal league http://www.SoCaldirt.org in 2009/10 the team finished in first place as the SoCal Champs! The SoCal League is part of NICA http://www.nationalmtb.org.
