The village became a civil parish in 1845. Henbury has an ancient church of St. Thomas
, as well as two pubs and a grocery.
There is also a millennium green, which featured in a BBC programme in New Year's Eve (1999/2000) where many villagers got to experience this.
The village is the wealthiest in the Macclesfield area, besides Prestbury
