The Highlight Towers are two office towers completed in 2004 in Munich
, Germany
which are considered exemplary for new architecture in this city.
Two bridges made of glass and steel combine to offer the two planned by architects Murphy/Jahn
of Chicago, USA, with towers 126 meters/413 feet (Highlight Tower 1) and 113 meters/371 feet (Highlight Tower 2) height, office space on 33 and 28 storeys, and thus are among the highest buildings in Munich. To divide the high-rise buildings, two low-rise buildings, which house a hotel and additional office space. Overall, the facility offers over 70,000 square metres of office space.
The towers are slightly shifted in the historic sightline of Odeonsplatz
on Ludwigstrasse with Victory Gate
to the north and form a focal point for visitors coming from the north of the city.
The smooth glass facades of the buildings appear to be light and transparent and provide a good exposure of the office space. Openable window structures with wind and sound isolation allow employees in the towers an individual ventilation and are part of an environmentally friendly air-conditioning and ventilation system.
The best known tenants of the buildings are the consulting firm Roland Berger
in the Tower 1 and the IT companies Fujitsu Technology Solutions
and Fish & Richardson
in the smaller Tower 2.
