Hillwood Comprehensive High School is a public high school

The wrestling team is known for their dominance in the 1970s under famed coach G.P. West, whom the Brentwood Invitational (G.P. West Bruin Invitational) is named for, as well as its many State Champions and the Hillwood Invitaional. Also the Wrestling team had a great run in the mid-1990s under Al Posnack. His best year was the 1994-1995 campaign with a 13-1 record. The Program was restarted by Jody Duncan in 2009-2010. He was a state runner up for Nashville Christian at 189 lbs.
The baseball team accumulated Hillwood's first State Championship in any sport when they won the TSSAA AAA State Championship over Maryville High School in 1977.
The Freshmen Girls Volleyball team found recent success when they won the Nashville City Championship in 2007.
The Basketball team is known for famed player Charles Hathaway who was a McDonald's All-American in 1996 and went on to play four years at the University of Tennessee

Team Accomplishments
The football team was State Championship contender in the 1990s and early 2000s under coach Jerry Link before their move from AAAA (4A) to AAAAA (5A), which was Tennessee's highest class, now there are 6 classes, Hillwood is in 5A. The football team is currently coached by Bubba Spears, who has previously coached at Stratford and started the program at East Literature.The wrestling team is known for their dominance in the 1970s under famed coach G.P.
