. Located about twenty-one miles southeast of the city of Wardha
, the town is located on the banks of Vena River, a tributary of the Wardha River
which joins to the Pranhita River, which ultimately flows into the Godavari River
and on NH 7 which starts from Varanasi
to Kanyakumari
70 km south of Nagpur
Hinganghat has been, in the past, a center of the Indian cotton
trade, as it is located in the fertile Wardha Valley.

At Vana River pump house there is an old stone, on that there is written this is the center of India. The stone piller is still there but the engraving is missing.
The center point is some were alont the new Nagpur hyd highway but the stone pillar is not there now.
The town has FOUR textiles mills i.e. R.S.R MOHOTA MILLS, PEE VEE TEXTILES & GIMATEX INDUSTRIES PVT. LTD. on which the bread & butter of the population is largely dependent .The town is a hub of cotton trading, Spinning, weaving & finished fabric. It also has sugar mills, Dal Mills & Oil Mills.
