living together, 1.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.3% were non-families. 25.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.80.
In the village the population was spread out with 19.4% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 33.3% from 45 to 64, and 14.0% who were 65 years of age or older. History
The town was laid out by John J. Holliday, great-great grandfather of former President George Herbert Walker Bush. John J. Holliday's father, Joseph Holliday, helped determine the boundaries of Monroe County and was one of its first county commissioners.Demographics
