In early 2011 the company successfully defended their website from a DDoS attack of unknown origin.

In June of 2011, it was reported that Police executive Peter Chun helped in the arrest of a family of five long-term burglars after he filmed them on the robbery on his CCTV surveillance network. The policeman publicly credited the Home Security Store's "Build Your Surveillance System in 6 Easy Steps" website feature and help division for the system.
