Honey blue-eyes are small, pale honey coloured fish that attain up to 3cms in length when adult. The females have clear fins. Male Honey blue-eyes have distinct black submarginal bands and white margins on their dorsal, anal and caudal fins. Honey blue-eyes will school from about 25-70 individuals. Females lay 40-150 eggs within about one week. When the young Honey blue-eyes hatch, they will usually feed from the surface of the water.
