Hot Cross Holy Shroud Split
Encyclopedia
This split 7" originated with the Hot Cross/The One AM Radio/The Holy Shroud Canadian tour in the summer of 2004. After playing a week of dates together, the two bands decided to produce a split disk. The Holy Shroud track, "Clear the Room," was recorded during the same session as their debut full length, "Ghost Repeater." It has been characterized as featuring the same off-kilter melodies, tight and propulsive rhythms and intensely shouted yet catchy vocal patterns that they displayed on their full length. Hot Cross contributed a new song entitled Tacoma, featured in their live set, and then committed to tape. While in keeping with their generally chaotic and discordant sound, this song is classifiable as a rock number.
