Hotel Loraine, also simply known as The Loraine,, is a ten story high rise building located in downtown Madison

it was built in the Beaux-arts style. The hotel was built for Milwaukee hotel and insurance magnate Walter Schroeder, and was Madison's leading hotel for many years, even housing the State Departments of Justice and Commerce, until recently. In the past decade it has been renovated into condominiums. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
