Gomez is currently living in Arizona, attending Arizona State University, while commuting to California on a regular basis to work.

Gomez just completed a pilot called " Surf Chefs", for Robert Lawrence Productions. He is currently preparing for his role as Joey Sorrento in the series "Proper Manors", set to shoot on-location in Utah. He is also currently recording the 11th season of Family, set to air in 2012.

Charity work

He donates some of his every paycheck to charity. In 2006 he started a charity food drive called The Gomez Family Food Drive with his siblings. Hunter put up $5,000 of his own money to offer as thank you donations to the groups that brought in the most cans. The food drive raised over 100,000 cans for the less fortunate. He supports many children's charities and even recently used the money from various television appearances such as on The Suite Life to sponsor a child through Compassion. Gomez has said that while he might not have the kind of money that big stars have he will use the money he does have and his time to help anyone.

Gomez has also donated thousands and appeared at fundraising events for Senator John McCain

's 2008 presidential campaign. He has read letters to Senator McCain at a fundraising dinner. These letters had been sent to Gomez from young military personnel with hopes that he could share them with his hometown senator from Arizona. These letters from the young service men thanked Senator McCain for his support of the troops and shared their support for the senator. Senator McCain said he was very touched, humbled and honored by what the letters said and thanked Gomez for sharing them with him.

Family

Hunter is the youngest of 6 children and his parents Dr. Ernesto and Linda Gomez were "Arizona Parents of the Year" in 2006 and in 2007 they were honored as "National Parents of the Year" by the "National Parents' Day Council"
