The Price Chopper Tour Championship is the final full-field tournament on the FUTURES Tour schedule and the results of this tournament etermine the final positions on the money list for the season. The top five earners of the season earn full playing privileges on the LPGA Tour for the following season. The next five players earn conditional status on the LPGA Tour, and the following earn the right to skip the first stage of the LPGA tour qualifying tournament.
The tournament is a 54-hole event, as are most FUTURES Tour tournaments, and includes pre-tournament pro-am opportunities, in which local amateur golfers can play with the professional golfers from the Tour as a benefit for local charities. The benefiting charity from the Price Chopper Tour Championship is Project Link for Kids and the Boys & Girls Club of Albany.
