. He began his career as a stand-up comedian in 1991, after being persuaded to get on stage by his girlfriend. He first performed at the Edinburgh Festival
in 1996, in a tour controversially called, A Little Piece of Kike. The organisers forced Stone to put the word "Kike" in inverted commas as it is considered racist. Stone commented about the term at the time saying, "I saw a description of it. ‘It said low-class, ill-mannered Jew,’ and I thought, ‘That's me!’"
