, usually known by her pen name I. A. R. Wylie, was an Australian novelist and poet who flourished during the 1910s as a romance writer and later became known for her nonfiction work.
In 1888 she moved to London with her parents, where her mother died shortly thereafter. She was home-schooled by her father, Alexander Coghill Wylie, until her teenage years, at which time she was sent to finishing school in Belgium. In 1917 she moved to America, where she lived out the rest of her days. She is said to have been "one of the most respected authors of her generation," and in 1946 she was acknowledged for her achievements by the Women's National Press Club.
