Mor Ignatius Nuh of Lebanon was the Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and Syria
from 1494 to 1509. He was a convert to orthodoxy
from the Maronite Church
. He was ordained a priest and then became metropolitan of Homs
in 1480 with the name Cyril. Subsequently, he taught among the Maronites and brought a number of priests and their congregations over from the Latin Catholic Rite to the Orthodox. He became the Maphryono of the East in 1489, and then became the patriarch
